About PlaySnack

PlaySnack is a set of party games you play on your phones. Send one link, everyone taps it, and you're all in the same game. No app to install, no account.

Who runs it

PlaySnack is an independent project, run by an individual rather than a company. Our terms and privacy policy say the same. The games, the questions and the blog posts are made and looked after by hand.

Why it exists

Getting a group into a phone game usually means everyone installing the same app, signing up and typing in a room code. By the time that's done, half the table has moved on. So PlaySnack works the other way round: drop a link in the group chat, and whoever taps it is in.

It gets used at dinners, retreats and house parties, by streamers playing along with chat, and at events where a big crowd joins at once. A friends room is free for up to 10; for more, an event pass fits up to 200 people in one room. A few games are fine on your own, too.

What's here

  • The home page has all 24 games, and each one has its own page with the rules and how to play.
  • The would you rather collection keeps 258 questions from Daily Would You Rather, sorted by topic.
  • The blog is about picking the right game for the occasion: a team dinner, a retreat, a stream.

How the questions and photos are picked

Every quiz and would you rather question is read before it goes into a game, and wrong facts or clumsy wording get fixed first.

Every photo in the celebrity brackets comes from Wikimedia Commons and is either Creative Commons licensed or in the public domain. The credits page names the photographer and the license for each one, along with the album art in the song bracket and the sound effects.

Keeping it current

Blog posts show the day they were written, and the day they were last updated when the content changed. Spot a mistake? Tell us and we'll look into it.
